Spent two days on Falcon to fight the fever after an Aug trip and befor a Jan trip...Well it's just the baddest lake in the country and even when it's slow it's wonderful. Fished with Dannie Golden again and had a ball. The numbers weren't like August but the size was just fine. Caught 50 some on monday with my best 5 going 38 lbs, with the 11-3 kicker below. The wind picked up a little on Tue. and the numbers went down some but we managed two 10s in the boat (not caught by me so they must belong to that no good Dannie). Our best five Tue went 40lb 11ozs. (So far this year I've caught a 10-9 at RR and an 11-3 from Falcon out of Dannie's boat!!)

We went to a hole Tue morning that produced an 8 several 7s and a bunch of 5-6 lb fish Monday first thing and only caught a couple of 5-6 lb fish, we complained and then laughed for a while. It's a lake that can spoil you in a hurry. Great trip, can't wait to get back.

Quick story, shortly after I caught the 11 I was talking to Dannie about a fish he just caught and he yelled that my rod was leaving the boat. I had made a cast with a football jig moments before. The rod didn't just leave the boat it flew out and as it was sinking it was moving quickly away from the boat. We cast several things in a vane attempt to snag it but it was traveling fast when it left and not much chance to find it in 17 foot of water. Tue afternoon late we went back to the 11 hole and started fishing and sure enough I snaged Dannie's line and told him I had him. But he said I didn't so I started pulling the line in to get it out of the lake and on the other end was my rod and football jig still in tact. Pretty nice catch. What are the odds? Twenty minutes later I did the same thing with my rod and Dannie yelled your rod is going, I grabed it and reeled in a 4 that was trying to steal another rod. The bass in that lake are bad mofos. What a trip.

Way to go Chet and Dannie. Recognized that power-pole as soon as I clicked on your post. Love story about your rod. Nice fish, nice sacks.

Thanks again Chet. What a lake. Congrats again on that pig. The man can catch them. Catches an 11 out that hole and his $400 set up smile

7 day and counting for my 1st trip. Can you help with the structure/depth and size of the football head jig? Need all the help I can get.

Most spots had from scattered rock to pretty thick rock covering the bottom in 10 to 15 feet. A few were small rock piles. Dannie is a wizard with the humingbird side scanning. 3/4 oz in good conditions 1 oz if it gets real windy.
