 HOW 2 ? remove black from Shimino Handles

Most of my shimino reel handles have a black residue on them I have tried a few things like solvents etc. Does anyone know what it takes to get it off. What ever it is. Thanks.

I used rubbing alcohol to get it off of mine!

Simple green and rubbing alcohol 50/50 blend
works good
