Hello guys and gals, I am about to change my fishing line and wanted to try something different. I have been using 14 lb Berkley Big Game in the green color. I am wanting a line that is heavy and the diameter of 6-10 lb test. I am thinking about the fireline, Ironsilk or maybe sensation in ?? lb. I want the line to cast real easy but yet be small in diameter and strong without the memory problems such as with Spiderwire or power pro. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ron

I have heard alot of bad things about Ironsilk. I have heard the line breaks for no apparent reason. For what you describe I would go with Bradied line. You get strength and small diameter and no memory. Power Pro and Spider are both good.
Yes I did admit defeat. Good job back to back champion

Thanks for your response, I have used both the spiderwire stealth and power pro, problem is the line loses its color and turns white for no apparant reason. Any more suggestions? What about the fireline, is'nt it a braided line?

I would stay with the Big Game but in 17#, but if you want a braided I'd give Cabela's a try.

Catt951, you say check with Cabelas, for which type of line other than big game? Which is better Fireline or another brand? Thanks, Ron

Spider Is to hard on the rood & eyes Spider line will cut the eyes and then your line will start fraying. And then if you ever try to put Berkley plastik back in it will be a big problem it will brack every time it gets in ths cut so yes the Berkley Fierline is the thing to do. And it will last for a long time to. I have hade some on one of my Catfishing rods for about 2yr naw and it still the same all most. I will put some new line on this wenter I hope this will help you

Well I decided since Academy does not have the Berkley Sensation that I would give the Ironsilk a try. I got the 17# test in the green color. Thanks for your input...
