I'm looking for a guy or gal that can reliably clean and lube a bunch of Lew's Speed Spools in the Austin area. Anyone out there know of such a person?

I've had good luck with Coopers in Bastrop.

Coopers is out of business. I can clean them for you. Email me at ldornak@bscbc.net and we can talk further.

Guys, thanks for the responses and the help. Since I live near Dripping Springs, Bastrop and Leander are both a little far for me, so I called McBride's and they said "sure, we do that job." Since I trust their gunsmithing work, I'm gonna trust their reel maintenance work, and I'll report the results to the forum if anyone is interested in that type of service.

Ace Tackle is now out of bidness, or at least is no longer listed in the phone book.

Looks like McBride's for me.

Ace Tackle also goes by the name Jensen's. Last time I drove by, they were open.

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, since they fixed my Motor Guide troller, but Highland Lakes Tackle in Round Rock does reel repair as well. Owner Tal Sprinkles is a good guy, as well. And they have the best selection of Yamamoto and Kinami lures of any place I've seen. Full line.

A little late but I wouldn't go to McBrides for reel cleaning. They take to long and they won't have your reels done when they tell you they'll done. Also I had to take back afterwards to get them to fix the levelwind which they had broke.
I've heard that the gunsmith they have is not that great either. I know some shooters that take their guns to S.A. to get worked on before going to McBrides.
