new chronarch are extremely well built. talked to the Shimano rep last wednesday. Only reel made in low, medium, and high speed in left and right handed reels. Solid bearings, gears, and drag.

I bought the the 5.5:1 E series for my cranking setup. I must say this thing cast a country mile! On my previous Shimano's I usually set 2 or 3 breaks. I have ALL breaks set right now (kind of embarrassing to say that!) and it still cast so far! I'm sure as I break it in I will back off a couple breaks.

If you have used last year Curado'sE7 it is the same reel. Nothing different but the color. All the bearings are the same.

Yeah, I've been using the Chronarch E7 for almost 3 years, in fact, I own 5 of them except that they're green and say "Curado 201E7" on them! I love Shimano, but c'mon! They totally cheapened and ruined the Chronarch name! I suggest you go on ebay and find the last of the 100D7's. They are still around if you look enough and sell for about $250

Great reel! Throws farther than my Citicas... Like the gentelman above I had to set some extra breaks too. Great reel for the money in my opinion
