I've had the reel from a shakespeare seahorse (i think) for the last year, but a bull red i caught just before labor day stripped out some of the gears. I need to replace it, but i only want to spend about 30-40 $. I've seen a daiwa and some "new" silver shakespeare's that are supposedly built for salt. i use about 35-40# test, so i need a large reel.
Any ideas? I guess i could look into buying a used reel... but i need it before next weekend. Thanks y'all

if your worried about capacity go to braided line. I started out on one of the daiwa reals from wal mart. In that price range, illd go with the best wuality garcia/daiwa i could get and use some braided line to make up for size shortcomings...

I have a Daiwa Jupiter-Z 4500 the reel has been played with but never actually fished with. Look it up and let me know if you want it, $30. 682-365-3149
