Can some of you guys in the know give me a good rod that is 7' and is really a good price for bass fishing, cause to me it really doesnt matter what kind of rod i buy i will buy that walmart special.
But now i am starting to lear that i need to be more selective in my rod choices.
sponsored by Photo Bucket LLC I'm thinking Nate is probably right.

Shimano Compre $90 Lifetime warranty. Can't go wrong. $40 more gets you the Crucial which is even better.

Talk to KIT at Texas Sidewinder---you will not be disappointed. He will stand behind anything he sells. Never have seen anything negative here about his rods only very satisfied people----and if you are not happy, he will make it right.

It all depends on what you like and what you plan on using the rod for. I have everything from a 7ft medium Berkley Cherrywood I use for crank baits that you can get a Walmart for less then $20 to a G Loomis GLX that will set you back $400 after taxes at Bass Pro. For me, the Cherrywood is a great crankbait rod and does everything I need, all for under $20. I would spend more money on a rod where the sensitivity is needed like the rod/ rods you use for T Rigs, C Rigs and jigs.
I love the G Loomis but also like the Extremes from Bass Pro, nice sensitivity and fairly light weight unless you compare them to G Loomis or a Keisler Helium.
Try out a few rods from your friends and see what you like. For me, I like a rod with really fast action and a relatively soft tip, but some people don't care for this at all. If you're unsure about a rod, keep all the plastic on it and go throw it in the back yard. You'll get a feel for how the rod handles and can also tell about the sensitivity.
Good Luck!

Right now Academy around Austin is closing out their Tournament IM6 rods for $9.98. Selection is going fast, but for the money, you can't buy a better rod.

Your best bet is to hit up an outdoor store and pick them up to see what feels best. Trust me on that one.

Hard to beat the St. Croix Premier series as an entry level rod with the Avid Series being the best value for a higher end rod. Check out www.stcroixrods.com

American Rodsmith makes great rods for the price. They include titanium guides and cost around $50.
Fish tremble at the mere mention of my name!

And then there is the Mighty Berkley Cherrywood at Academy Sports.
Give one a good shake, feel the weight, then check the price.
I've got 6 of them.
Good Luck with your choice.
