Hey Guys, just wondering of the few that have these reels what do you think about them? So far i have been very pleased with mine. Of course i've only had mine for about two months. Just wondering if anybody has had any problems with them or if there every bit as good as the Curado's? My personal opinion as of right now is they are. Just let me know what you all think. Thank you and God Bless!!!! Greg

Hey bassin, where did you get yours? I got mine from ebay. I also love mine as well. They are so versatile, you can use them anyway you want. Thanks for the response, it seems that were the only two with these reels. God Bless!!! Greg

I sure love mine...gr8 reel! I've had it about four years now and use it with a GLoomis CR721 IMX rod strung with 6# Yozuri Hybrid. Wonderful light baitcasting rig.

I have a Scorpion 1000 (dark maroon in color) that I use for finess fishing on a 6ft 6in custom rod. The reel handles light line very well. I do like the Chronarch MG50 better but I got the Scorpion before the MG50 was out. The MG50 is also more expensive.

I have had 3 Metanium XT's (Scorpion version of the Chronarch SF), a Scorpion 1500 (Curado SF), and a Scorpion 1000 (Curado 100 w/ SF). I started buying the Metaniums and 1500's back in '99. I have sold all of these except for one of the Metaniums. Never had any problems except for a slippery drag because of over oiling on my behalf. Great reels.

I have 4 scorpion 1001's, and I absolutely love them. Have had them for over a year with no problems.

I have 2 of them myself but I do not believe they are strictly a finesse reel. I throw DD 22's on mine year round. They catch so smooth and when the gears get rough, I just put new Curado 100 gears in it and it is a smooth as new. Go to www.profishing.net. I think they have the cheapest price going.

Hey Birdman,
Good to see you here! I figured out who you were a few weeks back.
If you use the Curado 100 gears in the Scorpion, you can use the Calais gears. Those are what we use to convert a CU-100B to a 5:1 ratio. I don't know if the Scorpion is available as a 5:1, but if not, and you need one for deep cranks, those Calais gears are a seamless swap.
Just an FYI.

Quick question for you Scorpion owners. Is there anywhere I can get a parts diagram for the Scorpion 1500/1501? I'm trying to figure out if there should be a spring under the brake knob or not. I have one on my Curados and Citicas, but not the Scorpion. Thanks
