I tried to take mine apart today for cleaning, after taking the 3 side plate screws out it was still held near the nose of it by something, possibly the stabilizer bar, but i cant figure out where to get into the other side (if thats how you do it) to get that loose. If anyone has one and knows how to "crack" it let me know please.

Dwain, sorry I don't know, but if you get ahold of these folks, I bet they will be glad to tell you..I think you need to rotate it upwards, but not sure..

don't tear any thing up.it's hard to get parts for them.I was looking for a spool can't find one.

On the side with the control dial, the screw in the middle of the dial. loosen screw and then twist side plat down and pull away from reel.
