If you want an inexpensive spinning combo, Sports Authority in Frisco has Quantum Pulse 30 with Tour edition graphite med. rod, clearance for $40, was $100. I bought 2 after I checked Quantum website to see if they were junk. The reel is the high end of their cheaper line with 5 bearings and the rod seems very good. They had about 4 left, so not sure how long they will last but obvsiously worth $40.

I have Quantum reels/rods and have no problem with them. I have an Accurist II combo $79.50 bought at Cabelas grand opening Ft. Worth and like it very much. I also have 3 Quantum E860PT-XM, they are fantastic, very smooth, long casts easily.
