Saw some posts earlier on this and then watched some videos, if you just have a free floating swivel on the line above your main bait what happens when a fish eats that front bait, can you get a good hook in them, do they ever pull the swivel down and pull main fluke off and you lose them...or has anybody ever really caught a fish doing this.....?

Yes, I use a Donkey Rig on powerplants a lot, I do cut and retie after a fish or 2 because of the sliding swivel, but the hookset is just as good. You can get a lot of doubles on that rig and suprisingly the 2nd fish stays on a lot more than it comes off. The swivel cant come down, The swivel is above another swivel, the leader on the sliding swivel is about 18" long and the leader on the main swivel is about 12" long. http://www.bassmaster.com/tips/donkey-rig

You can go to flwoutdoors.com and watch Tom Mann Jr. put on a clinic with that setup at the 2009 FLW Eastern Series on Clarks Hill.

Or go to the same site and look at the Alabama Rig that everyone was throwing. Gonna have to get me some of them.

I use a 3-way swivel for the donkey rig. Great when they are schooling and only stay up for a short time.

The reason I like to use two swivels with one sliding up the line is because sometimes if you get two good fish and you have a 3 way swivel they can swim apart and one of them can break the line.

Thanks guys, the website I found didn't show a swivel on the main line, that makes sense, have to give it a try. I use a double pop'r rig a lot and catch many many doubles, usually the second fish I catch right at the boat and most of the time the second one is the bigger fish. I'll shoot a picture of my rig and post in a few.

to mr.WaterLogged it is called a zulu rig. Thats because Menendez is using Strike King Zulus, I used it before those even came out, was called a donkey rig. The reason I started using this wasnt because of schooling fish, It was during team events we would catch a fish on a c-rig and many times seen a follower, so we started casting this rig behind the hooked fish and a few times ended up with 3 keepers out of it.
