Is anyone familiar with Ford's new twin turbo boost v6 engine that is in most of their pickup line? If you are, how does it towe a fully loaded bass boat? How does it compare to the tundras, chevys and ram pickups? thanks.

Guy at work has the ecoboost and loves it for normal driving and towing.Also said the gas mileage is good towing heavy.I"m sticking with my tundra,it"s strong and half the price of the eco ford.

my brother has the brand new 5.0 f150 and it is a friggin beast. hauls my 19 footer like a beast.

I don't want a turbo that boosts displacement. I want real displacement,gimmee the 5.0.

Displacement is going to be old and outdated soon if not already.

I have a 2011 Ford 150 4x4 EcoBoost with 10,000 miles. I traded in a 2009 Ford 150 4x4 5.4 for it and it out preforms it hands down. The 3.5 EcoBoost the the real thing. I love mine.

My buddy has a ecoboost and when he and another guy with V8 ford headed to Amistad, he constantly ran off and left him. When I trade next year, will buy one. Gets 22mph running around. And it costs less than that Tundra.

I was looking at trucks the other day and that sure was not my experience. All things being as equal as possible, the Tundra 5.7 was much less than an equally equipped Ford Ecoboost.

Did you see if that Tundra was supposed to run on Super Unleaded? And that Tundra will get no better than 15mpg, checked gas prices lately? Doesn't take long to offset minor prices with about 7 mpg differences. Another reason for the higher Ford Eco cost is they are selling the crud out of them, never see any rebates on the Ecos. I won't even consider buying a Toyota after renting one for a week, horrible gas mileage.

I have a Tundra and it runs fine on regular and gets better than 15mpg and, yes, it is 4 wheel drive.

I've got the '08 5.7 sr5 4x4 and it calls for regular unleaded. Towing, I get 14-16 depending on the road. But I don't drive like a maniac when pulling either and I don't strive to go 80. Without the boat, I easily hit 18. I don't know how you driver rented vehicles, but I know how I drive them... so yup, you can make any vehicle get crappy mileage if you want to. Oh, my dads 4.6L v8 2010 Tundra gets 21 mpg.

Now aside from the Tundra, I was in a vehicle with the v6 eco the other day and it seemed to pull his bass cat fine. Of course, he drives about like me and didn't punch it to get up to speed either. We traveled in it from Gainesville to Ray Bob, so not many hills there either. Nevertheless, I didn't see anything wrong with it. I had a Ford150 from '99, and it was a pain and required something to be fixed all the time. So I'm not a big fan of them anymore. But on the bigger picture, I like the new idea. I just hope the 1st year model doesn't come back to burn Ford... like a repeat of the old Chevy diesel.

I have been involved in a couple trips splitting gas in a tundra and never got more than 10-11 mpg towing. A buddy of mine just bought a brand new one and is getting 11. I would like to see what the real price difference is if there really is any....seems to me all the full-size pickups are in the same range.

Do your homework everyone likes something different and everyone really likes what they personally have. I personally liked the Ford it's an American company that didn't take bailout money and I liked their product the best.
