Purchased the new citica reel last week and was able to use last weekend. Another great product from shimano and this version is much lighter than the other citica reels reminds me alot of old curados. pulled in over a 100 fish on 3 day trip last weekend and held up well also check out the new Curado 300 series reel heres link to check out info about reel www.satackle.com

Are you sure you have the models right the new citica D weighs in at 9.9 oz compared to the old model citica is only 8.5 oz the new one is heavier, but i want to try one someday

yes it is something shimano has added for 07 is a smaller 100 size reel with the new deep spool system they came up with
check out link above or go to shimano web site reel weights 7.5oz and holds 120yds/12lbs mono line
