I made a trip out yesterday afternoon. I got out about 4PM. I parked at Baja Beach and then paddled over to the bubbles. I was throwing my fly rod and caught three sandies on a white popper. Bait fish were all over the place. I didn't figure out that the white was producing until late or I might have caught more.

I saw a couple other kayaks out. Was that any of you?

FWF....I've been trying to get out to Benbrook for a while now. Thanks for the report. And welcome to the TFF's Kayak Section. The only place better than this has water under your yak.

Is Baja Beach the area behind the corps office and down the hill not far from the dam?

It's on the west end of the dam closer to the Dutch Branch marina. You need to go to the Benbrook chambers building (i think thats what its called) and pay the 25 dollar fee for a key to get into the gate. Otherwise you cant access baja. I think the place you are thinking of is Longhorn park

If you only want to pay $3 ...? I think, go past Benbrook Marina at the turn off 377 that says Dutch Branch Park. Drive past marina, pay 3 dollars, go till you see the remote controlled airfield, fish somewhere at the waters edge there below the airfield with a south or east, even, wind and you have a chance to catch catfish, hybrid, yellow bass, or sandbass. Use live or freshly crushed shad or fresh cutbait like bluegill filets. If cloudy and misty, so much the better.

Hey BullMonty, I would sure like to know where you park and launch on the Trinity. I live down near Cleburne and would like to try some of the Trinity.

Still learning to kayak fish with my Hobie Outback.

Anywhere we can find a spot that looks launchable man! We just use google maps and pic a spot that looks launchable and then go check it out. That is how we have found most of ours. One off the good spots is off of University by TCU where the University street bridge crosses over the river. Can be kind of pain to launch from but it can be done. The other spots we are trying to keep on the down low because they dont see much traffic.
