Taking four people to Texoma next Sunday. We will launch @ Highpoint. Any one know how the fishing is? We will do live bait & lures [ of course my Sassy Shads ] Anything we need to be looking out for? I plan on fishing the river ledges and maybe go shallow early. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

fishing has been good. I had decent luck last weekend with live bait. Watch out for stumps and other objects sticking up. Water is low be careful

There is a whole new group of islands to watch out for, unless you really know the lake don't go out in the dark.
For the latest fishing reports: http://www.sixoldgeezers.com/discus/
Be there Saturday and should be able to post a report Saturday evening. We will be fishing out of Little Mineral. If I was leaving out of Highport I would go West or carefully across sandbass pass to the Okie side and fish the channel behind the islands.

Just got this fishing report from Steve Hollensed a local guide on Texoma.

Striper fishing is good to excellent. Fish are in large schools and located on most of the major mid lake flats. Birds and/or electronics will easily locate the schools. Both topwater and subsurface presentations have been working, depending on activity level of fish, with subsurface presentations being much more consistent and producing the better fish.

The gulls have moved in and are providing an exciting backdrop to the fishing. Fall is one of the time periods where you have a good chance to be in fish all day long... a great time to be on Texoma.

Went 2 weeks ago with a big company outing and the fishing was horrible. There were 38 guide boats and many fisherman. There was one 7 pounder caught by one boat and that was big fish. It was the first time on a guided trip I did not catch my 10 fish limit. I think the largest fish on our boat was maybe 3 pounds. I still like that lake and I hope the fishing has improved. Good luck.

Fishing has been great for over a month. Tons of fish and if ya can't find the fish then look for the birds.
Find any fLat on the lake near a main river channel and you will find fish..live bait trips have been producing 70-100 fish and lure trips 30-50 fish
Lots of smaller box fish but we have been averaging about one good 20 + incher for about every 10-15 small ones.

The fishing was outstanding. Limit caught. 10 fish over 20" plus 4 of those 10 were over 24". Only one fishing where we were. This fish fry is going to be a good one. I will post pictures when I get them off my camera. All fish on shiners.
