Well, for a World Series, Umpire Jerry Lane is not very good; he missed two very important calls that made the difference. First one is early in the game when the Cardinals get the man on who becomes Run #2. Watch very closely for those who have recorded the game. The ball comes off the bat and bounces in foul territory outside the left-handed batter's box and to the right of the first-base line and then careens down the first base line in to right field for a hit. That was not a hit but a foul ball strike. Possibly Lance Berkman's at bat in the 4th?
Secondly, Beltre was hit on the tip of his foot, but the behind-the-plate camera shows Lane does not follow the ball and misses the call completely.
Don't want to see instant reply in baseball, but I do expect the pros to be professional caliber.

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

the Cards can have one, never thought Rangers would sweep anyway...it is the 2 best teams in MLB (theoretically) our offense should have done a better job tonight, tomorrow is another day
Go Rangers

Rangers in 6.
The Berkman hit was fair, a good call. They blew the Beltre call. Should have been called a foul ball.

I'm a long-time Tony LaRussa fan (and a lifelong Oakland A's fan since the Charlie O days) but I am hoping there's a seat on the Rangers' bandwagon for me anyway.

The Berkman hit was fair, a good call. They blew the Beltre call. Should have been called a foul ball. Your signature moniker alludes to your bias: In today's USA TODAY, writer Robert Deutsch "9:15, 4th inning: Lance Berkman finally breaks the scoreless tie with a two-run single to right field. The ball actually hit in foul territory as Berkman hit it to the opposite field, but it took a big bounce and landed fair in short right. Berkman's hit scores Albert Pujols, who was hit by a pitch to lead off the fourth, and Matt Holliday, who smoked a double into the right-field corner. Lance Berkman singles in two runs in the fourth inning to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead in Game 1 of the World Series.
