I am downsizing my rod/reel collection and I was wondering if I could get away with using my Quantum Tour Edition rod for my topwater fishing as well as crankbait fishing. It is a 6'6" Med. Anyone out there doing this or is this unheard of? Thanks!!

I use crankbait rods for topwaters. I use my spinnerbait rods for buzzbaits.

That is kind of what I figured. It works too well for topwaters for me to be the only one doing this. It is super for walking the dag. Thanks ya'll!!

You absolutely can. I use my american rodsmiths crankbait rods for topwater all the time. Easy to walk the dog, plus the glass rod gives you another split second for the fish to eat the bait.

Yep.....plus I would think you'd have less problems with the hooks pulling out.
Crankbait rod sure made a big difference in the number of fish I land vs. the ones that throw the bait.
