I will definitely be getting out there a couple of days next week. Would have had something but just got back from Falcon and am working on the honeydo list. I will post something next week.

There is a big oilfield boom going on down there right now so hotels are hard to come by. There is a hotel right outside the south side of town that alot of our boaters stayed at. I think it was called the Linden Hill Motel. Its on business 59 between the lake and victoria.

I was also looking at the Antler Inn near Goliad. In my search it seems some of the SA area bass clubs have stayed there and it is newly remodeled.

Beware of Antler Inn they at notorious for taking your reservation and when you arrive, you're told you don't have a room. How bad is that?
This has happen more then once to our bass club.We will never stay there again. We stay at the cabins now and love it there.

I was afraid to hear that. Has anyone ever stayed at Linden Hill or Lone Star? Sounds like I may just be sleeping in my truck!

Derek, we had a few guys stay at the Linden Hill a couple weeks ago. They seemed to like it.

Hotels down there seem to loose reservations alot now that the oil boom is there and they can get a higher rate. Happened to some friends of mine at some cabins real close to the lake and was never given a reason Gold Figures LOL!!!!

we will be there on sat just fishing for fun. what does a cold front do to bass in a power plant lake? do they turn off or does it matter if the water temp stays steady? always wondered.
haven't been since april and can't wait. great little lake.
we did the fire alarm system in a hotel down south that is still a few months from being completed and guess what? they are all booked up with oilfield workers as soon as they open their doors.
this is in cotulla and the closest hotel we could find was in laredo. almost worth driving back to new braunfels everyday after work!

How about a fresh report. Fished daylight until 2:30, and had a good day with several good ones on buzzbait. You should hit the lake just right when you get here.
