Tackle Tour\'s coverage. The Calais DC will be available in both right and left hand retrieve, and comes loaded with a total of 11 bearings. The reel is only available in a ultra fast 7.0:1 gear ratio and weighs in at 9.5oz. Retail price for the Calais DC will be 649.99.
Above all else hold these two things in the greatest of circumspection; government and self. YOLO=Schiefspiegler

You'd think for that price they could at least make em' lighter. It's hard enough to cough up $400 for the "old" calais, but give me a break.
My wife says there's more to life than fishing, I keep waiting.......

Let's see, if I sell half of my tackle, I might be able to afford one. Then I'd have to sell what's left to buy one of those fancy Loomis sticks to hang it on. Kinda' like a carpenter selling his tools to buy more wood.
I place a limit on myself of $400 for a setup. As it stands now my tackle is approaching the value of my boat. Border line ridiculous isn't it?

yep. over 600 buckeroos.there's four category's and then sub's under each. Will have to have training to use. will we pay that much for a freshwater baitcaster? sure, we never thought we would pay as much as we do now for our boats. This is a piece of cake......maybe.
Gary Yamamoto pro staff. ask us about our reel maint. video and training school

You can have them all for 600! I would rather sit on a bucket with a cane pole than shell out 600 for a reel. I think they have gone a litle far on the price.

They'll come down...I bet you'll see them under $500 on ebay in the next few months. Sounds like an awesome reel to me...I adore my Conquest DC100 and this one sounds like a next generation version of that outstanding reel.
