Was down over the weekend for the 2 day trip. Well, sunday morning while packing up our tent. I looked at the other side of the river and could of sworn i saw a black bear. It was probably a hog but looked like a bear. Ive done the overnight trip before and have seen lots of hogs but not one like this. Are there bears down there?

There's not supposed to be any bears there. Only in Far east Texas and in the Big Bend area from what I've read. When it comes to wildlife though, anything is possible. Maybe the bear hasn't read the same books as me. It may have been Butch Sanders in a gorilla suit.

There have been serveal photos of black bears given to TP&W dept. that were taken in place there are not supposed to be black bears. The black bear is making a good recovery in TX.

The could be anywhere. I have seen a black bear near downtown Orlando. They had to tranquilize it and capture it out of a tree about 2 miles north of downtown. So anythings possible.

Most likely this was my ex-wife. My son told me she was out there that weekend. She is often photographed and mistaken for bigfoot. If she comes near you and you have food you should use bear spray.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Does your ex wife has a sister ? ( nothing personal!, just doing some post marriage geneology stuff on mine )
Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

Well Steve let's just say we never had left-overs at my house and she scares children and me for that matter. Yes she has a sister but she is a Hippie not a bigfoot.

I reported seeing a momma and 2 cubs cross Hwy 43 about halfway between Henderson and Tatum a few years ago. I wasn't close enough to absolutely sure but they were not dogs and not hogs. I have seen black bear before in the wild and I was positive enough to call it it.

I as remember it, west Texas and northern Mexico were under drought conditions when black bears returned to Big Bend NP.
