Unscrew the side and push in 3 and leave 3 out. 6 total. I might be wrong on which ones are out but it doesnt matter. Just do every other one. Adjust from there. Thats how I have mine. On a windy day I turn one more on.

I had a brainfart and got this backwards last time. laugh

In is off...out is on if you decide to go 4 and 2 or some other combination.

In is faster and out is slower (spool speed). Just make sure that however you adjust, they are balanced. You don't want to pull out 2 that are right next to each other. If you do 2, pull out one and then the next one you pull out should be directly across the spool. If you do 3, make it every other one. If you decide to pull out 4, then pull out diagonals.

I would start with 2 maybe even one. The only time I go up to 3 is when I'm casting into the wind or at night.

Everyone is different. I use three and then adjust the spool tension knob after that and almost never have to adjust whether in the wind or not. If you do only one it will be unbalanced.
