Im coming from california to texas in late march next year. Im a clear lake guy. I was thinking about staying in dallas unless any of you have a better idea and fishing the local lakes. probably stay in texas a week then head to table rock lake. what lakes would be best for me to fish. Im a complete swimbait guy.

About 2 hours east. Get a guide though, so you can maximize your trip without having to place any guessing games with where the stumps are and how to save your boat.

I have used Cody before, he came highly recommended to me on here as well.
There are a ton of good guides on fork, right now, Cody is fishing on Table Rock.
I'd send him a PM so you can get on his books early for march.

I dunno, I drove from San Diego to Falcon, I think Dallas is a lot closer. In fact I know it is, after fishing Fork I decided to go BACK down south, to Falcon AGAIN. (Plus Amistad of course, via Choke and OH Ivie!). But I had a bit more time- still Falcon is number one (don't throw the Punker there ).

Lake O The Pines. Can't beat it in October. A white toad can be outstanding this time of year around the grass and pads on LOP. Just got back from Table Rock Sunday. Its sucks right now. Had an ok day Friday the 14th but Thursday and Saturday sucked. Fished alot of different ways but main lake points that fell off into the river channel (150+ freekin feet) seemed to be the best(shaky head finesse worms worked best and a few on tubes) . Dont know why but the fish just didnt seem to be back in the creeks yet. The bait fish are there but mostly small fish in the creeks. Good luck.

If you come this far and dont fish Amistad and Falcon, you aren't doing yourself justice.
