Has anyone used a Ningbo baitcaster. I am a bass fisherman but am looking for a inexpensive reel for occasional catfishing and carp tournaments

Low end Chinese vender, stay away for many reasons. I suggest you buy a Rhino BC combo at Wal-Mart. This is the best baitcast reel for the money in my opinion. This comes with the Rhino rod which will hold up to the heavier fish you're targeting. $39, and if it ever breaks you always have the Wal-Mart warranty!

I learned to baitcasters on a Rino. I own 1 of almost the whole product line. They will do what ever you need them to & won't break your wallet.
1 peice of advice...the older low profile Rino BC combos come pre-spooled but the reel has a plastic spool. The newer ones have a red (I believe) aluminum spool.

Good Fishing!

Many will be quick to tell you your not the sharpest knife in the drawer. But if I make the cut, how sharp do I need to be?

Livewell is right. The combo comes plastic spool. The clam comes with the anodized aluminum spool. Unfortunately Wal-Mart no longer carries the reel sold separately. Check on the web for the RBC300. This model also has one more bearing. MSRP is $35
