I want to buy round baitcasting reel: and I'm thinking of Shakespeare Catera Baitcasting Reel and Roddy By Penn 175 Baitcasting Reel. which wone do you think is better? I know that Shakespeare has only 2 bearings, but it also has 4 bearing system. do you know wat that system is?

Poland like in Europe? I say the Catera is better than the penn. Abu or Shimano would be a better choice, CBW

Theres only two kinds. Good ole big'ems. And big ole good ems.

go with an Abu Garcia 5600C3 or C4 or possibly the Record RCN 50. I just got one the other day and it casts like a dream, casts just as well as any of the Calcuttas (except the TE's) and is a whole heck of a lot cheaper. if you need more line capacity just step up to the 6600 or RCN 60

penn is the best reel you can buy...fully American made and easy to service if needed. plus they last forever...second choice would be an Abu Garcia. shakespeare has o.k. rods, but their reels aren't so great

ABU Garcia is hard to beat. I still fish with the one that my Dad gave me when I was a kid and that was a long time and MANY fish ago.

If you don't know where you are going, don't be surprised if you don't get there.

Abu's are great for bank fishing and the coast, dependable and reliable. But as far as technical, precision casting... forget about it. The ambassador is basically the same reel it was 30 years ago, for better or worse. Why fish with disco-era technology when Shimano, Diawa, Penn, and other companies have better more modern equipment available for comparable money.
I love my Ambassadors, but I only break 'em out at the coast or live bait fishing. That's what they are good for.
