Any restriction on the size of boat you can launch there?

I don't think there is a restriction but I hear the ramp is only 9 foot wide and u can't back straight down either. Good luck if u try it.

just got back from Lavon. don't know where 8- 4pm came from. no signs saying such hours and I left at 4;00 today and still open.
What a circus , couldn't believe the size of the boats being launched off that little pos ramp. Some took 20 minutes or more just to put in. can only image how long to load up.
no going back on a weekend for me.

I was out there on Thursday.. That ramp has exactly 10" from the wheel hubs to the edge of the ramp once on it.. I caught some crappie in 6 ft on trees. Shad are loaded on the north side of the power plant and the cat fishermen are working it pretty good.

It is marked so you should not have to worry about it.. I was able to launch it fairly easily.. It's not straight as mentioned.. I watched two people try and launch the main ramp. One with a single axial and the other with a tandem. Single made and the so did the tandem. Both went off and tandem had a rough time getting pulling the boat out.

Thanks for the info Equinox....I'm taking some days off work next week, think I'll take a ride to check it out before I drag the boat there.

Collin Park should be closed. The ramp has 2' in length, maybe a foot deep or so at the end of the ramp. If you stay to the right it doesn't drop off a whole lot at the end, but it's mud past the end for sure. I can't imagine being able to launch anything you couldn't pick up and set in the water there unless you felt like backing off the ramp into the mud. I wasn't going to. The guy at the front didn't carge us on the way in, said I could catch him on the way out or he would see me in 15 minutes.

I didn't try the other ramp, went to Ray Hubbard instead. This really sucks, we need some rain or less people sucking water out of my lake. Wish they would move back to wherever they came from. smile
