Hey guys. I think I'm going to get one of the 7'11" Duckett rods for fishing DD22s and the like. Was wondering if there is a performance difference btwn the Micro Magic and the LaserLure models. Other than the color. Thx!

Micro magic is a little stiffer than the laser lure. Unused the micro magic and have used the laser lure and personally I love the micro much much better

I just bought a Ducket 7' Laser Lure rod at BPS for $109.99 regulary 179.99. I fished with it the first time this past weekend, and its a pretty nice rod.

That's a great deal on the Laser Lure. I have the 7'6" and like it a lot. I have a number of good rods but I would say Falcon Lowriders & Duckett are my favorites for the money. I like the quality and strength of the microguides on the Ducketts. A lot of companies use flimsy guides but both the Ducketts and Falcons are good and don't bend a lot.

The reel seat is the main divisive feature among the two lines. I have heard of reel seat issues with the laser lure line. While that was almost a year ago, the fact that it is a discontinued line makes me wonder if they ever fixed it or not.
