Planning on going to Fork next week to look for some crappie. Does anyone have any advice on where to look for them this time of year?

Sorry I ment to say about how deep should we be, and also jigs or minnows. If jigs which colors are working best. Thanks!

At about 15 ft deep. Good luck.

I worked the columns, and managed to make my way back to the West side, only catching a few here and there. Lots of schooling activity under the bridge. I hooked one more LMB and one sandy.

I'd hit timber at the mouth of creeks in 8-15'. White/Chart 1/16 jigs outta work. If not bit there, then work your way a little further out smile

Listen to duckie!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Headed to Fork today...500 boats does not sound good! The guy at the minnow bucket told me most of the fish were still on 515 and hadn't moved to the 154 bridge yet. But it sounds like somebody did pretty well on 154 last weekend.

If that is the Toyota tournament I would not go near that lake. I have crappie fished and bass fished during that tournament and trust me when I say find another lake or something else to do.

I saw my neighbor in his drive way packing up to head to Fork on Friday. He has a trailer right off 154. He said it is getting bad out there. He was telling me on the weekend of the last tournament that he heard ambulances running all day. He saw one boat at the ramp with the motor hanging by the cables. I did not hear anything so I think he might have been exaggerating a little.
