Greetings,
I'm having a some casting inconsistency with one of my Curado's (CU100) and was wondering if anyone could give my some tips on cleaning it. I tried to remove the spool thru the variable drag side of the reel, but the spool didn't want to budge, so I guess it's not easily removeable like on the Citica.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks ...gjarman

I noticed a greenish build up on the cast control rim surface that really cut my distance down. Check the rim before you tear into it real far. If the brass rim is dirty, the breaks rub against the dirt and slow thwe spool down. I had several Curados and Chronarch do this. After cleaning the rim they would cast a mile again.

Rockfish, I use a Q-Tip soaked in alchohol and the finest steel wool available. Works like a charm. Almost all my reels started out in saltwater and that is the only service I have preformed on them. They are still as smooth as the day they came out of the boxes.

There was a post on here last year that show pics and details on how to clean curados. It was very informative. I was always scared to due to much to them, but I have cleaned all of my surfaces out good with a q-tip and alcohol, then applied rocket fuel reel oil to them, and now they are good as new. A couple even cast better than when I first bought them. Coach
