I was wondering if there were any other adavtages, besides a slower retrieve, while fishing crankbaits with a lower gear ratio reel?

Lower gear ratio equates to less line reeled in per turn of the handle, and more winching power.

On another note, what happened to our J-Hawks? Very disappointing. I can't say that I'm too surprised though, because my Dad, had a pretty good feeling they would lose. He's a sports writer for the Wichita Eagle, and has been covering the Hawks for 20+ years. If he thinks they are in for a tough one, then you can pretty much take it to the bank.

I was sooooo disappointed. I was suprised to see the sun come up yesterday...lol. Now I am going to have to turn into a Okie St. and Texas Tech fan. We'll be back in two years. I think next year is going to be painful, we will be so young.

You may be right about next year. For starters, who's going to fill Simien's shoes? That person isn't even on the team yet! We'll see. Good luck fishin'.
