Went fishing this weekend in Matagorda TX. First time I had ever been there. Friday night was a blast we lost two and pulled in two bull reds, one about 30" the other just shy of 40". caught and lost everything in about an hours time. We were fishing the channle down from the jetties at the RV park on the island. It started raining later that night and the water went muddy fast... needless to say the fish stopped. We tried to do some surf fishing (we heard reports of people pulling in 50 bulls a day on the surf) but the swells were 6' and over and the current was something miserable. then we got the truck burried in sand and had to get pulled out so we decided the surf just wasnt for us that day. As soon as the water clears up im planning on heading back, maybe down to Padre Island National Seashore this time for some surf fishing. Has anyone heard anything from that area?

I was at PINS just over a week ago. Tons of mullet and SJ all over. Red Tide was in the air. Water was crystal clear.
