Neither....Daiwa 153HST.

The Quantum is a better value for the category. Quantum continues to improve their products and offering. Diawa makes good reels but I wouldn't put the HST in the same class as either of these reels. I own all three of these reels and Diawa is my least favorite of the three. The Curado and Tour both have centrifugal braking systems and harder gears. They also both come available in 7.1 speeds. 6.3 is the fastest gear ratio on HST. The Quantum is the only one to have die cast metal frame and side covers.

Skooks, I've got a last-year's Curado I'll trade you even up for that Daiwa. I hate Curados.

I guess everyone has there own opinion...I fish with a curado CU-200BSF. I love it...it has never once let me down. My fishing partner picked up the same reel a while back...he also feels the same way that I do.

Opinions are like [censored]...everyone has one

i have both The new Curado and a Calais so i can compair the two and i dont think that the curado is lacking that far behind. It is kinda like compair a chevy to a Cadillac....... But the PT is a pretty smooth and slick reel also.... Try some one elses out and compair you be the judge you are the one fishing with it.

I have two Quantum PT's that I had purchased last year. For all the noise about how great these reels were, there was some play in the reel that kills that whole anit-reverse feel. I was just amazed at how these reels weren't as up to par as I had initially thought. I do have some Shimano Scorpion 1000's that amaze the jeebers out of me. Talk about smooth! I didn't know reels were suppose to feel like this until I had tried one out. The PT is a strong reel, but I haven't played with it either to check and see if there was something loose causing the issue. I guess I had just expected more from an out of box product with that price. Steven
