I hope this doesn't make me look like a moron but here goes....I just bought an American Rodsmith, medium light 6'6". I have never owned a rod that has that fast a tip almost down to the handle. I need some ideas about what to use this rod for. I bought it because it was marked off of the sale price....couldn't pass it up.

Maziesdad, You might try looking at www.stcroixrods.com and look at there action and power charts and also there how to select a rod for your type of fishing. I think you will find you might have a slow tip, not a fast tip. Bass Regards, Dink-Catcher ST.CROIX PRO STAFF

Might make a good cranking stick, not too sure though.
It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.
