Hello guys-
I have been given the opportunity to purchase several gently used reels for half price. I have not jumped on the deal being that I dont know much about them. Should I go for the deal or invest that money in what I am used to using which are Abu Garcia reels. Also I have thought of just buying two of the Quantum Accurist AC500CX series on special at cabelas? Whats yalls take on that what should I do boys?

I have one BPS extreme reel in the 6.3:1 Gear ratio and it's definately a good reel for the money. Also, if anything happens to them mechanicaly, you can take up to BPS for a no questions asked exchange. Basically, they're no Curado, but a great reel if your on a budget. I can't tell you much about the Quantum Accurist as the only Quantum ive ever used was an Energy. Hope this helps a bit, and good luck.

I have 4 & love them. I recently purchased some of the Curados & will be able to do a side by side comparison soon.

The Quantum Accurist's made in Japan, are the good ones. The newer ones are made in China, and that is not good....I have 2 Quantums and 1 BPS its a pretty good real too. They are a bit, bulkly, for my taste? They cast fairly well, and like was said earlier...they can be returned pretty easily. You really cant go wrong with BPS reels (as long as the return policy is lenient.) GOOD LUCK

I have several of the BPS reels. I have three of the Prolite finesse reels, 1 Extreme Lite, and Extreme and a Johnny Morris. All have been fine so far.
We'll see how they do after another heavy season.

Awesome! They are great reels for the money. I loved mine but ended up donating it to some kids that were fishing at Fairfield. I didnt mean to donate it, just kind of forgott about it while pulling the boat out of the water and cleaning reds... Good purchase and they should last you a while.
