I have a Crucial 6'6" M/H -Action extra fast (lure weight 3/8-1)and it does fine for jig fishing. The 7 footer might have a slightly softer tip than the 6'6" due to the length.
I also like the 7ft M/H (TC-4)-Action medium fast (lure weight 3/8-1) for throwing heavier crank baits like the Norman DD14 and the DD22.
The Crucials are hard to beat for the price (around $130) and the over the counter warranty. I really like them.

I would say use the 7'6 heavy for the jig or 7" heavy.what ever is the most comfortable for you. The 7'6 is awsome.

Are the Crucial series rods fairly light? I am considering one for my new 50mg. The price does seem reasonable, I can't afford a Loomis.

N2FSHN, The Crucial rods are very light and pair up well w/ the Shimano 50MG, I have one on a 6'6" MH Crucial and LittleJon, another TFFer on here was asking the same question as you and ended up getting a Crucial as well and seems very pleased w/ the results. Hope this helps.

Sounds good to me. I've been going back and forth as far as rod selection goes, so many options. It's good to hear what works. Thanks.
