Going to fish there Thurs/Fri October 6/7 with my two brothers launching from La. side. This has turned into an annual event. We are staying in Bridge City. Any pointers on baits (type, colors etc) would be appreciated. Also any must go to eating places?

Peggy's on the Bayou on east roundbunch ,good seafood . I fished the north end along the Sabine River yesterday and took three limit's of Redfish . Caught on 4" chartruese Gulp swimming mullet . I wanted to do drift's in Coffeeground cove but the wind was to high . Should be good flounder as well as Red's & Trout in there .

I launch on the LA side sometimes because you can keep more fish. Of course the fishing licence is twice as much.

My two Sons and I went out with Captain Lindy Hebert at the end of June. He does a great job on Sabine. We caught a TON of fish and had some nice ones to take home as well. The boys still talk about the trip and ask when we can go back. He posts on here and has a website as well. http://luckylindycharters.com/

We go with a guide and the license is $5.00. Since we go once a year it is our chance to specks/reds to eat.

Yea in LA, if your with a guide, the licence is cheap. I own property on the beach down past Johnsons Bayou, so I get my $100 licence every year. Also, my flounder spot is back in a cove off of Sabine lake, so must have LA licence to go up in the marsh. That one spot has never failed me in over 30 years. Always catch my limit of flounder there.

I'm headed down to Sabine the end of the month. Never been on Sabine. I'll be staying in Orange, TX. Where's a good place to launch. Looking for mainly Redfish. Don't mind specs on topwater. My boat is a freshwater bass boat, Legend LE21. Is there any special precautions using a freshwater boat on Sabine? I'm a newby on saltwater. Got a taste of it in the Spring in New Orleans. Can't wait to try again. Any help with locations, tackle and tactics will be much appreciated.
