Just wondering if anyone has ever had a to pay a ticket because the safety chains where not hooked up the bumper? and if you had one how much did you end up paying?

The fine amount is generally set by the individual court and will vary from location to location. A surcharge set by the state is tacked on in addition to the fine.

Been issued the ticket and was mad about it about 7 years ago. Been sitting in a parking lot this year and saw a fully loaded trailer driving down the street not attached to a truck and realized why it is such a big deal. Be safe out there.

Ended up paying $155 bucks for not having the tow chains hooked up to my bumper. Said part is the ticket was like 55 bucks and the rest was court cost and fees. So if you are heading down 276 towards fork make sure your chains are hooked up.
