Over on the Fishing Across Texas board one of the guys attempted to contact the San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) via phone to ask a few questions regarding vehicles on the lake bed and the mowing of emergent vegetation on the exposed land, here is the response he got, the requester's name has been altered.

Mr. G. Carp,

There is no law prohibiting use of a motor vehicle in the dry bed of a man-made reservoir, only in river and stream beds.
In an effort to enable property owners to maintain the aesthetics (view) of their lakefront properties we are allowing mowing and maintenance of the lake bed with-in reason. We are not abdicating wholesale mowing of the lake bed where there is no identifiable benefit, only those areas in front of the waterfront (beachfront)properties.

Our intent is to try to preserve the enjoyment of the lake during this historic period of drought while encouraging the environmental benefits of allowing terrestrial vegetation to thrive where reasonable.

Thanks,
Blake

W. B. Kellum
Manager,
Lake Conroe Division
San Jacinto River Authority

Oh and in case anyone with an interest in communicating their concerns to Mr. Kellum personally, here is his email address. bkellum@sjra.net

Bureaucratic BS if you ask me.
