I have a 10',12', and 2-13's...... all cast about the same.....all throw the 5oz with no prob!.....I like the 10' because is doesnt need to be broken down to transport(I drive a 08avenger, drop the back seat, would never know i was going fishing).....I use the 10' and 12' offshore angler rods from BPS, I LIIIKKKEEEEMMMMMM AAAAAALLLLLLLLLOT!(dumb n dumbr)

i have heard good stuff about the ocean master surf rods ... i think they a from BPS
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

only thing I can say is get something that is not a broom stick .... gotta have a bit of feeling to the tip ...I recently bought a surf rod (spinning) of the cabela's type... ya it's a bit pricey but it has a little feeling to the tip of it ..11'6 .. Ive only played with it once & 4oz of weight was like I had 1 oz on it .... I really bought this rod as a double duty rod cause in the winter I am thinkin about doing the carp chasing...of course my fingers are now on fire after typing the word carp but hey ... they put up a good fight
