So why, if you had a choice, would you want to work the bugs out of a motor? Reliability is my biggest concern and right now I think the Pro XS is your best bet.

The pro xs had bugs too, thats all i am saying. They are all going to have them when they come out, etec pro xs and sho all had probs when they were introduced. And i believe the sho has fixed alot of their issurs as well.

I've ran both (XS/SHO) and will stick with my SHO. No issues whatsoever. 100+ on it now. Most that have ran both would agree with me. The making oil debacle was identified and resolved. The key with the SHO is the break in. Do it by the book! It's a bad mamer jammer.

Im in a Skeeter, so I have to go with Yamaha.

But, if were in say a Ranger, where I could pick my motor, I would most likely go with the 250 Pro XS. Like James said above. Before going to Skeeter, my 2 previous boats had Pro XS's on them, and they never had any issues.

But I have not had any Yamaha issues either. So, either Sho/XS for me!

I have had both Mercury and Yamaha. Right now I have a HPDI Yamaha and it is the best engine I've ever had. No problems at all.
