I never tried them but a while back a fellow was loading his boat at the 154 ramp and his strap broke the boat came off the trailer like it was sliding on ice.

I had them on my Triton several years ago, they scratched the heck out of the bottom of the boat. I removed them after 1 year, the fiberglass on the bottom was in real bad shape. I suggest, leave the carpet on, dunk the trailer all the way in to the lake, so the pads are completely wet, then pull the truck forward so the trailer is at the right height and then power the boat on. It should slide well on wet pads...

My main concern with teflon sliders was what happened to armadillos friend, they are slickern frozen bugsnot.

I have heard of people spraying silicon spray on your bunks or the sell a product at BPS or West Marine specifically designed for the purpose. I would do that before putting the ez slides on my trailer.

They also put all of the boats weight on a much smaller surface area. I had them on my last trailer but took them off. (almost dumped the boat on the Rough Canyon ramp at Amistad)

if you spray your bunks with anything make sure your partner is aware of it and does'nt release the ratchet strap before backing you down the ramp. Had a partner that knew and forgot, there is no sound quite like fiberglass grating down a concrete ramp. 21ft boats are also a pain in the arse to get back on a trailer when they are 10ft from the waterline. Real bad memory, I need a beer now.

had them on my trailer several years back. Helped loading, but sure places a lot of weight in small area of boat. I had one break and a screw back out. Pretty nasty scratch in the glass. I gave them away and an new unopened package as well. Resist the temptation and silicone the bunks instead.

You can also put Dawn soap on the carpet to make them slick.

Have a friend with them on 17'G3 trailer. Makes launching off tank damns and such a breeze. No way in hades I would ever put them on my trailer under a big glass boat. Ever had your front strap break going down the highway? If you did and did not have the back straps secured, the boat would be on the pavement quicker than a cat can lick...If it was on a busy road, the end result could be very trajic for those behind you. Plus when loading by yourself, getting it on the trailer and the front strap secured before the boat slid back would be quite a challenge. No thanks. I've usually got 250 ponies behind me to power onto the trailer. I know, with this low water you risk prop and lower unit doing that. That's one of the benefits of hydraulic jackplates.
