I just moved to lubbock texas for school and am entirely new to bass fishing. I am 19 and guided trout trips in Utah fly fishing and am more than amply prepared for trout, which of course lubbock has non of. I bought my first spinning rod in my life and have been trying it out at the local playas. So far I have caught one bass. I don't have a boat and have heard alan henry is good fishing. I didn't know if there is anyone out there who wouldn't mind helping me out and showing me the ropes of bass fishing. I have several spinner baits, texas worm rigs, a few crank baits, and that is all I got so far. Doing this on a student budget so it takes me a little bit to fill my arsenal. I am more than willing to chip in on gas or whatever to make up for the time. Unfortunately I sold my truck to move down here so I can't pull a boat. Thanks in advance shoot me an email at streamerstripper@gmail.com

Welcome to LBK Cort. A few good guides down there and there is usually always someone from Lubbock headed down there on the weekend for a fishing rendezvous.

If you ain't first you're last.

Hey Cort ... you don't need a boat to catch big bass at alan henry . I fish AH every weekend and catch more spots and black off the crappie house at day break . Right about day break the bass will school under the crappie house and go crazy after minnows and it's alot of fun . I landed a 5 pound plus black last week off the crappie house ...

Feel the bite ,set the hook and bruise a rib ...

Thanks for the welcome guys. The one thing I have noticed about lubbock is people are nicer and much more willing to help eachother out than anywhere I have lived.

Welcome Cort. The lake is a little more devloped than when I use to bank fish it. It also has turned more into a Spotted Bass lake and less of a Largemouth Bass lake. However, if you like to hike, there are several good spots that you can get to from the bank that are decent.

Shoot me a message and I will detail some spots or even meet up sometime and show you what I can.
