There is a good mat in the first cove west of game warden cove. I havent caught any fish deeper than 6 feet lately and punching mats has produced nada for me. Throw soft swimbaits along the edges and through the sparse hydrilla and you'll catch fish. Put some pics of how you do up if you catch them. Good Luck!

This man is right on with the swimbaits..Fished it yesterday from sun up until 3pm and the swimbait around hydrilla was by far the best bite.Did catch 4 or 5 punching grass and early they couldn't stand a wakebait around the edges.

I haven't fished it in about three weeks. Been making final touches on stands for bow season, but was catching them really good before that. Usually could could catch a big one or two on top early. Normally a zell pop or a frog. After that was going to crankbaits on points like was said above. I would catch a few punching grass, but had to work for them. Had several days when my best 5 was over 30 pounds. The best day was over 35 pounds. All on crankbaits. Strike King series 5 in chartreuse or shad pattern. Good luck.
