I did that with a giant drum at cooper a few years back,it was too tall to net properly.Just enuff mouth to hit a fat free shad. What a fight on a medium bass rod.

Sunday morning I caught a 5.5 pounder flipping a tree. Next cast I got bit and set the hook. I don't know how big she was but she went straight into a cedar. I tried to turn her and bring her up but it wasn't happening. After about 5 seconds in the tree she broke me off. Then about 2 on Sunday I set the hook on a fish. At first my partner asked if I was hung up. I said no I think it's a fish. She didn't hardly move, just pulled really hard and slow like a catfish. Then she came up and shook her head and threw my jig. I keep telling myself she was a slot. My partner says she was over. Next time I'm flipping trees on that lake I will be throwing braid.

My partner cashed a $900 check for second place one hour on Friday with a 2.30 pounder! Heck of a check for that size fish! First place that same hour had one over 8 pounds!
