I know it would be hard to say exactly where to find flatheads in the fall, given different bodies of water, but what is general pattern of flatheads in the fall? Whats the best way to go about catching them. thanks guys.

I'd guess lot's of time on the water and concentrate on using live bait or big fresh baits in feeding or transition areas that they occupy.

Do you think edge of river channels would produce much? Ive got to put these proanglers to work, and get some big fish for this winter fish off lol. I dont think I have much chance catching big blues out of waters near here. I'd love to catch a big flattie, and looks like Ill have to head yalls way for often this winter/fall.

Jake, you have any access to some deer hunting down there? Might make some trip trades!

Jake, you might do some research on Lake Ivie. I think there are some good blues in there if its not dried up.

flattys are shallow this time of the year. Less than 15ft and are more active around brush and rocks. You can almost always get one or two on the rocks down at the dam.
I slow troll (w/ the trolling motor 3 rods w/ 6 oz weights down the rocks in about 12ft of water. Hold on.

Anytime you're coming through to your cousins holler at me. We can hit eagle mountain. Not much of size but we can get you some fillets. I'm on the lake now. Biggest blue was 30". Scales took a dump on me so I'm just guessing it was a teenager.

ivie's got some good blues and flats all mine from there have come from 10' or less and on points where there's a feeder creek using cut shad for some reason it appears that the flats out in ivie dont like live bait for me
fish to live and live to fish

yellas are eating in the fall but you cannot count on them as winter comes on. They sorta hibernate. Eat very little, don't move around much. Even when you find one it's hard to even get a reaction strike.
