You won't believe this ! Thought I'd put my small boat in down at the Kayak/jetski launch this morning. When I turned the corner, there were people/ cars/ trucks lining the launch area. Fishing poles from one end to the other. This is suppose to be a "no fishing" area, but there were no signs up. I found an opening between fishing poles so I backed in & shoved my little boat into the water. Talk about a hostile crowd ! I decided to go streight out, between the fishing lines...didn't see one. Ended up with it around me, my poles & motor. Got away with only a cut hand. I stopped at the office on the way out to complain & learned that people are stealing the "no fishing" signs as fast as they can put them up. Their policy has not changed ! This is still for launching kayaks/ jetskis only & no fishing.

Keep the office number in your phone and when you see this, call them and have them come correct the situation. That is the only solution I can think of. They have not been good on enforcing their own policies, like the jugging rule. You can only jug the area north of the powerlines, but for the past 6 months or so we've been seeing the jugs everywhere......

Yup this is what i was talking about on other thread . These people don't even respect the rules at all .

Always carry office number and GW's number give them a call asap you see that . There was sign all time for no fishing but i always see that location packed with rods.

haha...typical cali operations... the inmates run the asylum out there..always have always will until someone with some balls to stop it.. They need to put up signs that say if caught fishing a minimum of $250 fine, and just have a sting operation out there one weekend...trust me the word would get out quick.

The man & his wife that manage the park are very nice people, unfortunately they are up against a bunch of lowlifes that ignore rules. I doubt if they can get any help from the local GW or police. I don't know what the answer is...maybe hire a couple of exmarines.

Well whenever GW's are around they will make those people run from that side but again when GW's are gone it's same issue .

This is not going to work until they start handing out those tickets .

There are more than just the old couple employed at Cally. They just need to stand up and do the right thing. At least temperary higher some security to enforce the rules.

As I was leaving the office, this older guy was getting into his truck to go down to the kayak launch to enforce the rules. I doubt if he intimited anybody. Bet he was thinking " this job doesn't pay enough". Your right, they need to hire a couple of "strong arms" to enforce their rules. If they don't, things could get completely out of control.

It's already getting out of control it's just people who don't care about stuffs . They act like it's all their private property lol . Sometimes you get to see dramas out there over those bank spaces .

maybe they don't enforce the rules too strictly because they are afraid of losing paying customers. If it's anything i've learned fishing these lakes is that they are all bark and no bite with their rules and enforcement of them.

That area was set aside for small boats, kayaks, etc & not for a fishing area. What we have here is these low lifes trying to take over our area. You should be able to put in any day that you want & not have to fight your way through fishing rods. Maybe hiring off duty law enforcement officals would be the way to go. It wouldn't take many arrests or fines for word to get around.

Exactly ! Well when you drop by that office next time try to suggest them samething . Few arrest or tickets will control it for a while .

What I been told by the workers at cali is that you can fish on the right and left side of the launch area. The picture in the opening post is a legal spot to fish according to the workers. They said that you just can't fish where there is pavement or you can't have your lines cast in front of the launch area. I don't think there is an easy solution to this problem cause they don't enforce any of the rules. I ask this on Brawny Cal's Fishing Report and this was there response.

Question:
Why is the 2 rods per person and 1 rod per kid not enforced? I seen a lot of people with 3-5 rods when there is only one person. Management should start enforcing all the rules that came out in July. If they aren't going to enforce it, what was the point with the new rules?

Response:
If you see a violation let one of our hosts in a cart know. If they are not available notify the office. We cannot be everywhere at once so we need your help. Thanks.

Why does it take someone to complain so they can take action. Why they don't just check when they are passing by or picking up the trash. I seen the workers talk to bank fishermen and it obvious that the person there talking too is alone with 5 rods but they don't say anything.
