I have been a bait fisher for awhile but am starting to wade fish with lures. I am using 1/8 oz jigs with bass assassins, shad assassins with a medium light rod. I am curious of how to present it the best to attract fish.. (let it drop, pop the rod, reel in ?)

Try to let it sink to the bottom, and then lightly pop it and let it go back to the bottom. Try different retrieves let the fish tell you how they want it. Somedays fast on bottom or top. Somedays slow on top and bottom. Always have to factor in how the fish are feeding. Just try different technics, sometimes there is no way to fish a bait wrong. Let the fish decide.
