Never been to Falcon in December and want to give it a whirl
this year. Looking for some info for what to expect in the Dec 20th to 30th dates. Usually hunting this time of year, but ready to do more fishing with my son on semester break. Been in March and June and it was fantastic! Usually fish the lower end from Veleno to the dam on the US side and like that area. Any help is appreciated. Bee

No different than any other time. IT'S ALL GREAT!!!
I like "Winter" down there. The only problem is there is a greater chance of winter storms. But we always have great fishing and less crowds.

December can be outstanding on Falcon.

I've only been around the 1st of Feb, and if you hit it right with the weather and wind, it is as good as it gets. I know summertime produced great this year but too dang hot for me. My buddies have went in late Dec and clobbered 'em. I know I would be clobbered too if I went at that time! duel

Check out the falcon lake tackle website. he keeps everyone pretty informed. good luck...am headed there myself in a couple of weeks. be sure to make your reservations early, it can be real crowded at that time. good luck.

If it has been warm and you are able to fish in shorts and sandles fishing will be great. If it has been cold and you feel the same as if you were freezing in a dear stand fishing will suck. Falcon fish are for sure warm to hot weather fish.

I agree, cold fronts shut them fish down.

Had two trips there in December last year and both were awesome. Fished the first trip putting on sunscreen all day and fished like it was August. Caught lots of fish and a few big un's. Second trip it was in the 20's first thing in the morning each morning. After zeroing before noon the first day, we got under the veleno bridge the next two mornings from 8-10 and loaded the well with limits of huge crappie. Went out and fished the rest of the day for bass and had a great trip. Did not have a strong North wind though.....that is what you want to avoid on that lake.
