i have some sturdy 20 oz bottles that i am gonna use for juglines. would it be worth the time to add styrofoam peanuts to the bottle for extra buoyancy?

Only if the styrofoam is lighter than air. Otherwise you are decreasing buoyancy.

Loosen the cap and add 1 tablespoon of water. Set in the deep freeze for about 15 minutes. Removed and immediately seal the cap. Your bottle will pressurize, increasing the buoyancy.

Use a pool noodle or bleach bottle. When you're 50-100 yards away you'll have a hard time seeing that 20oz bottle.

We use 4 inch pvc. put cap on one end and then fill about 1/4 way with spray foam. gets a little expensive, but ive seen em chopped up in a prop and keep on fishn. unfourtunately it was my prop. i called it a controlled experiment.

the only way to increase boyancy is to increase the volume of the float. it doesn't matter if you fill it with foam, air nitrogen or whatever. pressure will not increase boyancy unless the container is designed to expand, such as a ballon or inner tube.
max boyancy = weight of water displaced minus weight of container and contents
some examples of max boyance for non expanding containers
20 oz bottle = 1.3 lbs 2 liter bottle = 4.4 lbs 1 gal jug = 8.34 lbs
foam will only help it float if it leaks or ruptures
Bought a Ski and Fish boat, Now it's a Fish and Ski boat. Boat is now a WiFi hot spot ask for access code if you're nearby

LOL Which is the point of adding foam to a jug as well. It will keep it afloat if it gets hit by a boat or punctured some other way.

i know a guy that took the foam out of his jet ski to save weight for racing.
first time out he flipped it over. it sank before he could swim back to it.

ive been jugging for a long time and have tried just about every rig out there at some point in time. dont know all the tchinical jargon about water displacement and bouyancy. all i know is ive seen my jugs get chopped up in someones prop without foam and they were usually goners. jugs wity spray foam get hit and they stay afloat. ive even forgot to fix them and used em again the next trip.
