Is there any interest in a beginner level casting class in the north Dallas area?

I enjoy the informal casting practice sessions like we held yesterday, but that format does not leave much time to work with everyone, especally the beginners.

So, is there interest in a formal casting class?

Here's the proposal, my beginner casting class is focused on the standard pick up and lay down style cast, loop control, false casting, and goes through to shooting line. It would be similar to the classes I teach at Fly Fish Texas and other fly fishing events and conclaves. I�m willing to hold this class for anyone that is interested.

This class is appropriate for beginners that have never picked up a fly rod to more experienced casters that struggle to consistently make 40 foot casts.

This class emphasizes casting fundamentals and timing. The primary objective of this class is to get you on the water fly fishing, but the skills covered in this class prepare you to begin learning the double haul.

The class would be 2 hrs in length and would probably be held somewhere in the McKinney area and the class size will be limited.

If there is interest in this type of casting class, we may be able to expand the format to cover other topics in the future such as how to double haul.

Thanks so much for letting me participate in the class Sunday. I had a blast!! I learned a ton of information in just a couple hours. Now if my wife would just quit looking at me strange as I'm out in the yard practicing. Lol!

As for funny looks when practicing, just be ready to answer the inevitable question "are you catching anything?"

Here are a few potential responses:

"A couple of grass carp"

"It's a little slow today, but you should have been here yesterday"

Or

"A couple of bottlenose and three house so far"
