Trying to make a trip to amistad next month, will be a party of ten does anybody know of lodging that would accommodate this. We would like a cabin where we could do our own cooking and stuff, but would be receptive to other suggestions.

Amistad Lake Resort has a large apartment that I know will sleep 6 comfortably. It has a kitchen also. You might want to contact them and see just how many people can sleep in it.

Also, there are several trailer houses next to each other that rent out. They have covered parking, washer/dryer, full kitchen and TV. Really nice trailers!

We stayed at the Laguna Diablo Resort cabins a couple of years ago and it was nice. Nice cabins and about a 5 minute drive to the boat ramp. Deer in the yard every night and an awsome porch.

Matt.

for what your looking for the best lodging choice would be river street lodging. They are ownwed by tommy shields. it is very reasonable. he has 6 properties close together and some sleep 6 a piece. all properties come with flat screens, fully furnished kitchens, covered parking for up to 3 trucks and boats. full covered decks with seating and outdoor grill. they are by far the nicest place to stay.

you can make reservations or ask questions if you call

Tom or nancy shields at (830) 734-3248

respectfully,

Jc Gwynne

Thanks guys I will be giving some people some calls. Hope to be there in a couple weeks, this is our usual trip to Toledo Bend but low water conditions have made us think of some alternatives. I have never been to Amistad but several in our party have. If anybody has any other pertinent information feel free to share.

Don't go! You will be so spoiled by the time you have to leave that you might call your family and say you're staying there! smile smile That lake is addicting for sure! Beautiful water with every type of scenario of cover you could ask for. Lots and lots of fish. Awesome top water action,,,,, great Carolina rigging over grass beds, throwing plastics on Texas rigs into flooded trees and rocky deep drop off banks for crankbaits.

If you need any help, give JC Gwynne above a shout. He's your best source of information, as he's one of the best full time guides down there.

Be sure and get your daily lake permit at the Diablo East ramp. There is a machine there at the restrooms that looks like an ATM machine. You punch in how many days you are going to be on the water and pay there. Remember, you only need one permit per boat,,,,, not per person. You can purchase a Mexian fishing license at the Ranger dealer there, if you decide to go into Mexican waters. But, there is so much water on the Texas side, you can't cover it in two weeks of fishing!!

Thanks Hag are you inferring that I might never want to go back to the bend after going to Amistad ? I was thinking about looking for a small getaway place while we are there as our lake up here (Meridith) I don't believe is going to make it through the drought. We are going to have to do something if we are going to continue to fish cuz I ain't gonna start golfin.
